Homeowners face rising water costs and safety concerns due to limited water supply and contaminated infrastructures.
Solution
A mobile app that would connect to a water filtration system that addresses the users needs of conserving water and also filtering the water that comes out of taps and faucets around the users home.

Setting the target audience was a large challenge as we were not originally sure who this was for.

Context and Key Insights
- Water usage on a global scale will increase year over year as the population grows and urban environments expand.
- Water quality remains a constant issue throughout the world. Outdated infrastructure, pollution, and poor maintenance lead to many health issues like cancer or dysentery.
- California faces many water challenges due to its mostly arid climate, large population growth and farming practices as well as many major droughts in the past few years. Water conservation and quality has been a big consideration for both politicians and homeowners.
- California is heavily affected by water shortages and remains highly vulnerable to recurring water issues.
- Chico has trace amounts of contaminants such as arsenic, chromium, and Haloacetic acids have been detected in the water supply
